AOH Fundraiser for Irish Music Festival on October 4th

August 16, 2014

Raleigh’s own Irish Music Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 4th in Moore Square. This is the third year that the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) has held the festival in Moore Square. Even though the musicians, bands, dancers and festival staff all donate their time, there is still a substantial cost for the event. City permits, park rental, insurance premiums, sound systems, stage and tent rentals, port-a-johns, security and park cleanup all add to the cost.

This year to help defray costs the AOH will be holding a fundraiser at Tír na nÓg in downtown Raleigh this Saturday, August 16th. The AOH has been a great supporter of the Raleigh GAA so please come out and help their cause. The pub will be sharing a percent of its dining receipts that evening so come hungry and enjoy a fine Irish meal with Irish entertainment including music, dance and a bit of blarney from Raleigh GAA’s own Eddie Foley who will MC the event. There will be a raffle for some fine Irish products and donations will also be accepted at the door.

The schedule of events for Saturday’s AOH fundraiser at Tír na nÓg is as follows:

  • 4:00pm Introductions
  • 4:15-5:30 “Ewe’s Tree” an Irish band that will get your hands clapping and your toes tapping
  • 5:40-6:05 Rince Go Hálainn Irish Dance Academy
  • 6:15-6:45 TríonóideAcademy of Irish Dance
  • 7:30-10:00 “Nine Times Around” an energetic Irish Pub Rock band that brings Irish music to a new level
