First hurling Cup victory – the Paul Gleeson Cup 2014

April 16, 2014

hurling team photoRaleigh GAA captured an historic first tournament Cup victory on Saturday by winning the Paul Gleeson Cup in Columbia, SC!

This is a fantastic achievement for Raleigh GAA in the short time since we were founded, incidentally on the weekend of the club’s second anniversary. This victory is just reward for the many hours of hard work and training which we’ve put in over the past two years. A special congratulations to the players who travelled to Columbia in particular, and to the hurling coordinator John McNeilly and tournament lead Joe Nett.

This is why you play the game and these are the days you don’t want to miss out on. Do everything you can to make it out to every tournament. The next one is only 2.5 weeks away – another hurling tournament, The Holy City Cup, on Saturday April 26th in Charleston.

Being such a busy club these days, we also have the Contrada festival at St. Catherine of Siena church in Wake Forest on the same day, Saturday 26th. More information on these two events to come, but have them in your calendar.
